2nd Annual City of Columbus & Friends Trunk or Treat
The 2nd Annual City of Columbus & Friends Trunk-or-Treat is happening on Thursday, October 24, from 5-7 PM in the Trackside District – Downtown Columbus. This fun-filled event is the perfect opportunity for kids to show off their Halloween costumes before the big night! The extravaganza will take place in the public parking lot east of the Columbus Community Building, 2500 14th St., with over 30 decorated trunks offering treats.
Columbus Police Chief Charles Sherer will be grilling and serving hot dogs from his coffin-inspired grill, with supplies donated by Hy-Vee and Super Saver, while they last.
This event aims to provide a safe and festive atmosphere for families to get into the Halloween spirit. Additionally, several businesses in the Trackside District will be handing out candy at their locations, including:
- Mother Nature’s Emporium, 2701 13th St.
- Businesses inside Pioneer Plaza, 2402 13th St.
- 10 County Title & Escrow, 1371 26th Ave.
- Barbara Jean's, 2605 13th St.
- Valencia Salon and Boutique, 2507 13th St.
Others may be participating too, so just look for signage in the window.

A Midsummer Night's Dream performance
Join Central Community College for an unforgettable evening as they present A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Frankfort Square! Step into Shakespeare’s enchanting world, filled with whimsical characters and comedic twists. Savor delicious bites from local food trucks like Only Breakfast, Sprocket’s Famous Freedom Dogs, RaCa’s Food Service, and Pull N Smoke. Pair your meal with a drink from Cork and Barrel or the Downtown Mug, and don’t miss a stop at Barbara Jean’s for the latest fall apparel. Bring your friends, enjoy the festivities, and make a free-will donation to support the arts.
Performances will be held Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings from 5:30 to 7 PM, with a special final matinee on Sunday, October 27, at 2 PM. We can’t wait to see you there!
Christmas Gathering at Urban Farm Boutique
Winter Wonderland at Urban Farms kicks off on Thursday, October 24, with a special opening day of holiday shopping, featuring carefully curated gifts and festive décor. The store will be open from 10 AM to 7 PM, and from 3 PM to 7 PM, you can enjoy adult beverages while sampling delicious breads and crackers from Patty Dolezal. The Christmas Gathering continues on Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM, Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM, and a bonus shopping day on Sunday from 11 AM to 3 PM.
